1. What is the MusicIndiaOnLine Trident Player?
MusicIndiaOnline Trident Player is the media player that is used to deliver the audio contents (i.e. songs and music) to the user (you!). It is a web-based (or browser based) player and uses JavaScript, RealMedia and WindowsMedia Technologies. It is currently the most advanced player on the market. It was developed in-house and is exclusive to MusicIndiaOnline and is designed to look, feel and functionlike any other non-web based media player on the market. It is extremely stable and faster.

2. What is new in MusicIndiaOnLine Trident Player?
Major improvements in the player's speed, which now makes it faster than ever before! There has also been major bugfixes and interface enhacements! It now supports a wide range of operating systems and browser enviroments, such as Linux, Mac OS X, FireFox, Mozilla and Netscape. Now the Computer Configuration Detector also has been enhanced to give you more flexability.

3. What Operating Systems/Browsers does the Player Support?
The Player Supports the following systems with the specified browsers:

• Windows 2000/2003/XP - Internet Explorer 4+ / Netscape 6+ / FireFox / Mozilla / Gecko-based Browsers
• Mac OS X - FireFox / Mozilla / Netscape 6+ / Gecko-based Browsers
• Linux - FireFox / Mozilla / Netscape 6+ / Gecko-based Browsers
• Mac OS 9 and earlier - Not Supported
• Windows ME/95/98 - Not Supported

4. What software do I require to play music?
For Windows users, you have the choice of using Windows Media Player or Real Player for listenign to music. The software required can be download by clicking the links below:

• Download RealOne Player
• Download Windows Media Player 10

And one of the following browsers:

• Internet Explorer
• Firefox
• Mozilla
• Netscape

For Linux/Mac OS X users, you need the RealOne Player which can be downloaded here.

And one of the following browsers:

• Firefox
• Mozilla
• Netscape

5. How do I get it to work on Windows?
Download RealOne Player or Windows Media Player, if you do not have it installed already, most users would already have Windows Media Player on their system. Check if you have RealOne (RealPlayer version 10), by going to Help > About RealPlayer, the version should be 10 or higher, if you need to upgrade please go here:

Check the version of Windows Media Player by going to Help > About Windows Media Player, version 10 is prefered, but version 9 has also been known to work, if you need to upgrade please go here:

Then just goto MusicIndiaOnLine using either Internet Explorer,Firefox,Mozilla or Netscape, navigate to the song page and pick the songs by selecting the songs with the checkboxes () and pressing button or just click on the song you want to listen to. You will be presented with the computer configuration checker, wait until the report screen appears :

6. How do I get it to work on Linux?

Download RealOne Player if you do not have it installed already. Check if you have RealOne(RealPlayer version 10), by opening RealPlayer, this can be done by executing :

  [miouser@localhost ~]$ realplay

on a command terminal (xterm), while in X Windows. If that does not work check at the default system-wide location

  [miouser@localhost ~]$ /usr/local/RealPlayer/realplay

or check in your home directory

  [miouser@localhost ~]$ ~/RealPlayer/realplay

or at the location you have installed it in.

After RealPlayer is open goto Help > About RealPlayer, the version should be 10 or higher, if you need to upgrade please go here:

8. Does it work on Mac 9 or earlier versions?

Unfortunately, Macintosh 9 support is not available as it is depreciated by many of the browser and media player vendors and they do not provide the current version of their softwares for this platform.

9. Does it work on Windows 95/98/ME?

Unfortunately, Windows 95/98/ME support is not available as it is depreciated by many of the browser and media player vendors and they do not provide the current version of their softwares for this platform.

10. Does it work on Netscape 4.7?

It works on Netscape 4.7 but we do not recommned it as Netscape 4.7 is not a stable browser.

11. Does it work on Safari and Internet Explorer in Mac OS X?

No, it does not work on Mac OS X's Safari and Internet Explorer as many important browser features are lacking that is needed for MIO Trident Player. Apple has proposed to implement the needed functionality in their next version of Safari which will be included in Mac OS X v10.4 (Panther).

12. Does Windows Media Player work on Mac OS X?

No, Windows Media Player does not work on Mac OS X due to the limitations with Windows Media Player version for Mac OS X.

13. How do I switch between players vis-a-vis RealPlayer and Windows Media Player?

To switch between the players vis-a-vis RealPlayer and Windows Media Player, just click on the icon on the bottom right of the MusicIndiaOnline Trident Player :
