Pankaj Udhas is India’s one of the most popular ghazal singers. Since last 5 years he has been something for the cause organizing a ghazal festival in Mumbai. The event is called ‘Khazana- a festival of Ghazals and Mushaira’. In one platform many leading ghazal singers of the country come together. The event is organised to raise funds for Cancer and Thalassemia patients.

The event has been successful since its inception and has so far raised millions.  The success of the event has been so enormous that Pankaj Udhas is contemplating taking it outside Mumbai where it has been so far held.

He had said, "As artists, we earn a lot of name, fame and money. Through Khazana we try to give back to the society a little bit of what we can do for them. I am proud to inform you that all artists who perform at Khazana, from the senior most to newcomers, do it for free. Encouraged by this gesture we have decided to take Khazana to other cities."

This year, the event will be held on 25th and 26th July, and would be dedicated to Begum Akhtar. Anup Jalota, Talat Aziz, Abhijit Pohankar, Penas Masani besides Pankaj Udhas will be rendering the songs, few from Begum Akhtar’s stable along with other ghazals.
