Musical twosome Salim-Suleiman, better feted for their latest achievement ‘Chak De! India’ may be essentially alike when it comes to balancing their tunes, but when it comes to their take on certain issues, their thoughts may not be exactly in sync.

Let’s take their ‘Chak De’ as example. For Suleiman, the eldest of the two, ‘Chake De!’ was a high that needs to be breached now. You need to move on to create something bigger and better, believes Suleiman. However Salim thinks otherwise. For him ‘Chak De!’ is unsurpassable. To recreate something as big and good as this may not be a duck soup. Nevertheless, he is extremely pleased with the way the song has been received and loved by the crowd.

The duo who have been meddling with music since the last nineteen years, had apparently maintained a modest profile so far. Reason? Well, the duo believes in letting their music do all the talking. “We enjoy our private space. We don’t have a PR team behind us. Whatever the brand Salim-Suleiman is today, is because of what we are as composers, not because of any marketing,” says Suleiman. In fact, they are so busy with their music that they hardly find time for public appearances at all.

The duo has got quite a long string of films coming up this year. First is Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Aashayein’ followed by Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’, Yash Raj Films ‘Roadside Romeo’ and ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, ‘Teen Patti’ and ‘Tasveer’ while Shimit Amin’s next and ‘Kuchi Kuchi Hota Hai’ are slated for next year. With a list as long as this, we are sure that a quick win is close at hand again for the talented twosome.
