Sneha Pant, who broke into Bollywood music frame with Subhash Ghai’s ‘Yaadein’, has honed her skills under the tutelage of Kalyanji-Anandji. This budding talent, with an undying zest for quality music considers herself to be lucky enough to have gained guidance from some of the best in the field. Nevertheless, she prefers to keep undeterred by the rat race.
This musical wonder gives away all the credit for her fame to her mentor Kalyanji who had not only trained her in music but has also incorporated values in her. In fact, she was trained in all the arenas of the calling including the nuances of playback singing and stage shows before she budged into the field. It was the soul stirring ‘Ae Dil Dil Ki Duniya Mein’ from the film ‘Yaadein’ that made her an overnight singing sensation.
Since then there has been no set back for the songster with a good many number of offers and hits frequently flowing in. Of all her songs, some of the most popular hits are ‘Jaa Sanam’ from ‘Na Tum Jaano Na Hum’, ‘On The Roof In The Rain’ from ‘Masti’ and songs in ‘Baghban’, ‘Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge’, ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo’, ‘Golmaal - Fun Unlimited’, ‘Desh Devi’, ‘Halla Bol’ and above all the hit ‘Soni De Nakhre’ with Labh Janjua and Wajid in ‘Partner’. However, in spite of all the success and fame, Sneha chooses to keep a low key.
Nevertheless, Sneha opposes the idea of being bonded by a contact. This little house of talent wishes to cut out an album of her someday. For Sneha, music is her potion and she cannot help but swear by her all-time favorites Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Mohammed Rafi and Ghulam Ali and Shankar-Jaikishan and Madan Mohan among the composers.
Although she cannot claim to be as popular as her contemporaries Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal, nevertheless this docile dame admits to be more than pleased with her going. . “I am very content. I am not very affected by whether my songs are hits or not because I have been appreciated for them and one song has led to another. I am a bit of an introvert and not very media-savvy, I am afraid,” avers the shy Sneha.
For Sneha, who holds the record of working with all the leading musicians of Bollywood in contemporary times counting Rajesh Roshan, Anu Malik, Himesh Reshammiya, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, Ismail Darbar, Sajid-Wajid, Sandesh Shandilya, Aadesh Shrivastava, Anand Raaj Anand and others, the going only seems to be better ahead.
