One cannot forget the famous suicide attempt case of young actress Pratyusha and her boyfriend Siddhartha Reddy, though it was almost two years since it happened.

A week after the death of budding actress Pratyusha, things turned full circle. Pratyusha, an upcoming actress who did both Tamil and Telugu films, ended her life in dramatic situation in February 2002. According to police sources, she ended her life taking Novocron along with her lover Siddharth Reddy. Soon she was admitted into hospital but she died in the hospital. Her lover was in coma then.

Everyone thought that it was a suicide attempt initially. But when the forensic reports came out the case turned dramatically. Forensic Doctor Munuswamy declared that she was sexually abused and he also found some scars on her body. He even said that he had doubts that it was not just a suicide case.

Then the local media probed the things. Shocking revelations have been coming out day after day. Newspapers reported that three of Siddhartha’s friends kidnapped Pratyusha on that day and raped her in her Maruthi car. According to some reports, there is a political hand too. ‘We didn’t find any concrete evidence that she had been sexually abused,’ said Hyderabad city police commissioner M.V.Krishna Rao on Wednesday. So, from police point of view, the case has ended. It is, according to them, just a ‘suicide case’.

The judge sentenced Siddhartha Reddy to six years rigorous imprisonment.The case created a sensation at that time. No one knew about siddarth's parents till now and the details are kept as secret.
