Pongal over, Now Summer?

There are three important release times for Tollywood, the Sankranthi, Summer and the Deepavali.

Now that the Sankranthi has gone by leaving disappointing marks on the producers of movies, though some of them claim that there movies were super-hits. Now, all we can do is look forward to a decent fare atleast during the Summer release.

This is a short list of popular films expected to make it to the Summer release. The first one coming to the mind is the Nagarjuna flick 'Nenu Unnanu'. Not withstanding the high turn-out of audience for its audio release on Thursday, the film boosts of a big star-cast with Nagarjuna, Shriya and Aarthi Agarwal. What's more the producers have touted it as another 'Hello Brother', but with a difference. This naturally adds to the interest on the movie, though one hears this kind of proclamations almost every time a movie is released.

The other one is the long-awaited Mahesh Babu's 'Naani'. This movie which was supposed to be released last year September went through so many tentative release dates, thanks to AR Rahman, that one might be tempted to believe that the film may after all not be released at all. But things have taken a positive turn with AR Rahman finalizing his compositions for the movie. The audio will be now released the next week and movie's date is fixed at April 28th. Let's keep our fingers crossed, this time.

Then there is the NTRjr's 'Samba'. NTRjr, who is waiting to prove his worth as a mass hero after his 'Andhrawala' failure is teaming up with VV Vinayak, the man who gave him 'Aadi'. This movie also raises a lot of expectations simply to see what NTRjr has to offer.

Balakrishna's yet to be named film with Swarna Subba rao is also expected to be released. The one big star that the fans will miss is the Megastar. The Megastar's films have started late and though they are going at full throttle, it is not sure if they will be able to make it this summer.

Let's hope so. That will hot up the competition.
