On the 28th of October, Telugu film industry organized a rally to protest against piracy.

A few weeks ago, Tamil film industry had conducted a series of protests to draw the state Chief Minister's attention towards the menace of pirated VCDs and how it was drastically affecting the film industry. The protests had their effect and the Cm made piracy punishable under Goondas Act. As of now, piracy has almost reduced to minimum in the state and the crowds are back to the theatres.

Telugu film industry too is plagued with a similar problem. So, to draw the attention of the CM to this problem, the industry organized a rally on the 28th. But the rally was very noticeable for the number of absentees. Film personalities like Ashwini Dutta, Ravitheja, Raghavendra Rao and many more were absent at the rally.

Nothing much is expected to happen from this rally.
