'Shankardada MBBS' finally made its way to the theatres with the name of the producer absent on the film's posters. 

Critics have panned the film calling it a 'mediocre imitation' of the original, 'Munnabhai MBBS' but this has not dampened the spirits of the film crew. "They had said the same thing about 'Vasoolraja MBBS' too, but the film did very well at the Box Office," they say. 

The film's overseas rights were sold at impressive prices too. 

On the very first day, the film had collected more than Rs 25 Lakhs on one district alone! Anjala Zhaveri makes a special appearance in the film for an item number, hoping that it would revive her career in Telugu. Chiranjeevi's young nephew Vaishnav, makes his debut in this film. 

The Superstar's family was not so glad with the failure of Pavan Kalyan's recent film but 'Shankardada' is turning out to be their best Deepavali gift this year. Chiranjeevi is all set to start a new film with two heroines, Diya Mirza and Tabu. The film has him in a dual role.
