SJ Surya's Telugu version 'Naani' didn't create lot of controversies but the Tamil version of the film, 'New' did.

Women's organizations and the Censor Board members themselves had a tough time with the film. But, finally, an allegation still remains on SJ Surya that he portrayed women as sex-starved creatures in the film. SJ Surya gives his answer. He says,

'I don't know what these complaints are all about. Married men and women are intimate with each other. In my film, I tried to portray the intimacy between a newly married wife and husband. I didn't show her having an affair with another man! Hinduism worships Lord Krishna and his Rasaleela with the young gopikas. Nobody has any qualms about it. Why do they have different parameters for Lord Krishna and for SJ Surya?'

Lord Krishna gave the Bhagvad Gita to the World. He was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. What did SJ Surya do? Who's incarnate is he?
