"I was seventeen when I entered modeling," Namitha said.

"Money was not the reason why I had got into modeling. Our family was very well off. Still, I wanted to make my own money and be independent. Every man and woman should learn to stand on their own legs and not depend on their guardians for food and money," the actress continued.

"It was the same urge to be independent that led me to films," she said.
 
Namitha claims that her parents have faith in her and her ability to face problems and come out of it successfully. "Namitha has the courage of a man. She would never get into troubles and nobody would try to mess with her either. We have enough faith in her. She wouldn't do anything wrong," her parents said when they were asked about her boyfriend.
 
Namitha is one of the fortunate few heroines who have their parents' support. On that count she is very lucky!
