Music director AR Rehman was recently seen offering his prayers at the Kwaja Moinuddin Chistiya in Ajmer.

For the past 14 years, Rehman had been visiting Ajmer atleast once every year. He stays in Ajmer for a period of four days. This, to him, is to recharge himself. Rehman says that he comes to this Dargah to find solutions to his problems and to seek divine blessings.

Rehman is a follower of this Sufi saint who also loved music. Rehman says that the Sufi saint represents secular India because the Dargah is visited by both Hindus and Muslims.

The Qawwali style of music was created by the Sufi saints to sing the glory of the Lord. Rehman’s musical style has lot of influence of Qawwali.
