Prakashraj was the first choice to play the role of the villain in Teja's new film. But, since he couldn't, it had gone to Rehman.

Teja is directing a new film named 'Dhairyam'. The story is about a poor and orphan high-school boy falling in love with a rich high-school girl. The father of the girl is against this relationship. The whole story revolves around these three central characters. 

Prakashraj was the first choice to play this role. But, he was busy with other films, especially the one in Tamil with Kamalhasan. So, he wasn't able to give his dates for this film. That was how Rehman was brought in. 

Two newcomers have been brought in to play the roles of the teenagers- Nithin and 14 year old Elena Decruz from Mumbai.
