This is the tale of two heroines who made their debut in one language, ran out of offers and are now doing pretty well in another language. 

Meena- She made her debut as a kid in a Tamil film with Rajini as the hero. After growing up, she returned to Tamil as heroine and was very popular for some time. She then switched to Telugu, Kannada and a rare Malayalam film. When new competition came, she lost the battle and made announcements that she was going to get married. But, she now has two consecutive films in Malayalam, both with superstar Mohanlal! One of the films has turned out to be the winner among the Onam releases. 

Amisha Patel- She made her debut in Hindi with Hritik Roshan in 'Kaho Na Pyar Hai', did an occasional South Indian film, lost her position to other starlets, got into a huge fight with her parents, felt so threatened by her father that she went into hiding for a while, but is now one of the leading heroines in Telugu, with two films with Chiranjeevi and a film with Jr NTR. This is in spite of the 'Naani' debacle!
