No let up in KFC and Exhibitors' hostility

Bitterness between the Karnataka Film Chamber and Karnataka Film Exhibitors is increasing over the ban of other language films.

Yesterday, we had carried news that the association for film exhibitors had decided not to screen new films at all. The ban comes to force in another few days, from Friday to be exact.

The countermove from the film exhibitors has caught the Film Chamber unawares. The biggest casualty of this decision would be the film makers themselves because South Indian film industries are getting ready for the autumn break releases. And, film exhibitors' strong notice that they would prefer closing the theatres down rather than screening new films.

The sudden announcement had caught the film makers unprepared too. Else, they would have done something to get their films released before the ban comes into force. This being the case, the Karnataka Film Chamber doesn't seem to be aware of the magnitude of the problem.

Somehow, late Soundarya's last film has managed to beat the deadline.
