After the illustrious Vijayairmala, Jeevitha and Jaya, choreographer Suchitra turned director with Pallakilo Pellikuthuru but the contrived love story failed to create ripples at turnstiles despite being made under the supervision of hit-maker Raghavendra Rao. “If not for his encouragement, I wouldn’t have realised my dream,” revealed the grateful popular dance director who had approached several producers for two years before Rao approved her script. “He added commercial ingredients to make it an all-round film,” disclosed the choreographer of 400-odd songs who claimed to have received a good response for her debut film. Being a lady, she regrets to have added the comedy track on sex-bomb Shakila but promised decent comedy in her next venture. “It would depict the changing colors of the husband and his kin when his wife turns rich overnight,” said the female director who agreed that her themes would inadvertently be biased towards the weaker sex. “The narrative would be in my own style,” opined the young lady whose film had a big influence of Rao. She succeeded in one male bastion-choreography, can she do it in another, let us wait and watch.
