Hyderabad, May 19 (IANS) Ace director B. Gopal has teamed up with action star Prabhas for his lavish extravaganza "Aadavi Ramudu" slated for release this Friday and definitely one of the more awaited releases this summer.
"We discussed a lot before finalising the title since we didn't want to reuse the title of the legendary N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) film just for the sake of it," said Prabhas, hoping that this forest adventure will cement his position as the new angry young man.
With his last release "Varsham" grossing over Rs. 200 million, the trade is showing a lot of interest in this latest action thriller.
Aarti Agarwal, once a sought-after glam girl, provides the love interest and is hoping to regain her position with this violent love story in Telugu.
After all, Gopal, who delivered five hits in a row with superstar Balakrishna and the record-breaking "Indra" with Chiranjeevi, is adept in dishing out star-centric movies.
"We have packaged it as a wholesome entertainer with love and action holding the interest," said the filmmaker who has again spent lavishly on the film, which is shot mostly in forests.
He had a supportive producer in Chanti and postponed the release of the film twice.
"We didn't want to compromise since we made up our mind as soon as we heard the script," Chanti explained.
He traded the film for a good price after a tough bargain to cover his investments.
The posters suggest that Gopal has rehashed his decade-old blockbuster "Bobbili Raja", a vengeful love story set in a forest with hit music by Illayaraja.
Will this film revive Gopal's winning streak after a disaster like "Palnati Brahmanaidu"?
The market alone will tell.
