It's quite obvious to everybody that Udaykiran's career did not reach the levels that everybody had anticipated, since his broken engagement with Chiranjeevi's daughter.

While some of them in the industry attribute this to the listless choice of stories by the young actor, some of them have openly come out that Chiranjeevi is playing the fool with the career of this young man. Though the truth will never come out, Udaykiran himself has come out with a change in strategy for his career.

It starts with Balakrishna's 'Narthanasala' where he plays the role of Abhimanyu pitting himself against the best in the business. It is also heard that the lover boy of the telugu film industry is being approached more for multi starrer films these days than for solo roles.

He is also doing another film to be produced by Suresh Productions, with Manchu Vishnuvardan Babu in the lead.

Since he doesn't have too many roles to boast of, it is important that he keeps his feet planted in the face of crisis. It is notable that earlier in interviews Uday kept harping that he wasn’t very much open to do films with two heroes in the lead.
