Chennai, Apr 21 (IANS) Soundarya passed away without playing the political role she wanted to. But less known is the fact that her tragic death also stopped her from completing her dream film role.

The southern Indian star was playing Draupadi in a Mahabharata-based Telugu film titled "Nartanasaalaa". Before her, legendary heroines Savitri and Vanisri had enacted the same roles in well-received Telugu films.

Soundarya, an admirer of both her predecessors, is reported to have told friends that she would try to do it "at least half as well as them".
