In Andhra Pradesh, people wouldn’t know who or what ‘Pitamagan’ is but, mention ‘Shivaputrudu’ and they will probably say, “Ah! That superhit film!”

Director Bala had almost lost his good friend Vikram while making the film in Tamil. So bitter and big was the misunderstanding that there are rumors that Vikram had sworn that he would never work with him again. But, the film, which probably is the last film that has them working together, is a big hit in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh.

The most surprising fact is- ‘Shivaputrudu’ is not a remake of the film ‘Pitamagan’. It is a dubbed version! More than Surya, it is Vikram who is impressing the audience.

Now that this film has become a superhit, there is a big demand for other films starring Vikram, dubbed or remade. You wouldn’t believe this but even before the release of his new film ‘Arul’, the remake rights in Telugu had been bought at an astronomical sum.
