'Pitamagan' which was recently dubbed into Telugu as 'Sivaputrudu' and released without much fanfare is doing bumper business all across the state. The film which started off with a paltry 21 centers is now increased it's prints to 37.
The dubbing rights were bought by Lakshmi Ganapathy films, after toying with the idea of buying remake rights, for just 5 lakhs. Now the trade experts believe that this movie can make anywhere between 2-3 crores business.
This amazing response to the film has excited Vikram who is now shooting Shankar's 'Aptudu' which is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. This also has the distributors looking for prospective Vikram films to be dubbed into Telugu. But unfortunately all the films he has acted in the last two years are already remade in Telugu and his latest 'Arul' rights have been snapped up by Bellamkonda Suresh.
Don't be surprised if you see 'Veede' again as the dubbed version of 'Dhool' in Tamil. Distributors are that restless for a hit!
