This year seems to be the year of politics for Tollywood. Just a look at the number of stars who took the plunge is overwhelming. It should only be said that it was nice that all of them weren't given a ticket.
The popular one leading the pack is the producer Ashwini Dutt simply because of the Chiranjeevi support that he's been able to garner. Ashwini Dutt will contest the elections from the Vijayawada constituency. And then you have Kodali Nani, also a popular distributor and producer, contesting from the Gudiwada constituency. If you had observed, all this was well planned by NTRjr since his 'Andhrawala' audio function where he made people travel all the way to Gudiwada. Only two people spoke for 10 min in the entire function and they were NTRjr and Kodali Nani. It had almost become a kind of election campaign at the cost of the producer Giri.
Another popular girl to secure the ticket is Roja, who seems to have renounced her screen life to serve the public, allegedly. She is contesting from the Nagiri Assembly. All the above are contesting on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party. Meanwhile the glam doll Rambha has also jumped into the bandwagon, although she is only campaigning for BJP this time. It looks like she's hoping for a ticket in the next elections.
Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna who are quite neutral in their stance, inspite of Chiranjeevi supporting Ashwini Dutt, are doing constant appearances on the screen and urging the people to exercise their right to vote.
Election fever sure has struck Tollywood hard!
