Keeping up with her resolve to do some meaty roles, pretty Boomika has again picked an interesting role in producer Suresh’s next untitled film (remake of Tamil hit Autograph). Besides scoring an hat-trick of hits, she did some varied roles including the mentally-challenged girl in Simhadri and a scheming boss in Missamma to gain a special place in the hearts of Telugu audience. She consciously rejected more than 25 offers unwilling to play second fiddle to stars and was looking out for something challenging. Now the role, played by Sneha in the original, impressed her since the role of a girl who influences the hero to regain confidence after his traumatic love experience is a matured one. “I saw the original quite a few times since the moments are close to reality,” revealed the talented actress. It’s a known fact that many actresses after resolving to do meaty roles later did regular roles succumbing to the lure of green bucks but so far the pretty lass has resisted it. After two flops, Boomika would have realised the importance of doing ‘worthy roles’ and embarked on a new path. Understanding that an actress can remain in the memory of the viewers by doing varied roles and not by repeating herself. Kudos to the soft-spoken actress for swimming against tide.
