BJP has decided to field Vijayashanti against Priyanka Gandhi who is the Congress candidate from Bellary.

Vijayashanti, who is the deputy leader of BJP’s women’s wing is going to compete from the Hyderabad constituency. She had joined the BJP five years ago, this is the first time that she is going to stand in elections.

But, the Karnataka wing of the BJP wants to field Vijayashanti against Priyanka Gandhi if she decides to stand for elections from Bellary. They had approached Vijayashanti and the BJP High Command about this.

Vijayashanti, also known as ‘Lady Amitabh’ is considered as a worthy opponent to Priyanka Gandhi. Vijayashanti said,

“I’m ready to compete from the Hyderabad constituency. Azarruddin is going to represent the Muslim League. I’m ready to compete with him.

If Priyanka Gandhi is going to stand for elections from Bellary, I’m ready to compete with her too. I leave the decision to the BJP High Command.”

BJP is now wondering if it should let her compete from two constituencies.
