Chennai, Nov 1 (IANS) Tamil film "Ram" nearing completion "won't tell a religion-related story" despite its title, says Amir, who produces and directs the film fresh from his success with "Maunam Pesiyadhey".
"Ram", featuring Jeeva and Gajala as the young hero and heroine respectively, is about the relationship of a son and his mother, played by Saranya.
"Don't conclude that this 'Ram' is the Ram of Ayodhya. Ram has other meanings like a star and an arrow being released from the bow. This is why I have made it my film's title," says Amir.
Jeeva is well-known producer R.B. Chaudhary's son.
Amir denies that he gave the hero's role to Jeeva under Chaudhary's persuasion.
"Chaudhary Sir has produced 50 films and introduced 39 new faces. He did not have to come to me for this," says Amir,
He adds; "Jeeva suited the role and he has acted well also."
Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has scored the music, has sung a lullaby by a son for his mother.
The whole film has been shot in the summer resort of Kodaikanal.
