Ramayana is the inspiration for 'Chellame' story. I had acted in the 'Rama's role in the film says Vishaal.
Vishaal is the Hero of now successfully running movie 'Chellame'. He came into the Tamil film world with the aim of becoming a director. Then how he had become an actor instead? He wanted to answer this question in a detailed manner. So he started talking by answering few questions.
Have you ever aimed to be an actor?
I wanted to become a Director first. When I told this to my father, he said that I should try and become an actor first, after that I can become a director. So I have become an actor.
Is it that easy?
Not like that, for this I have put in some effort. I got myself trained in 'Koothupattarai' Institute. After that I took lessons in Fighting and Dancing from the assistant of 'Kanal'Kannan. After these kind preparations only, I ventured into the field of acting.
That was why, I was able to act in most of the scenes without much re-takes. But I found it very hard to act in the song sequence "Aariya Udhadugal". For this song alone I was able to act to the satisfaction of the director only after 7-8 takes' except for this, I had performed well. The reason was the training I had undergone which was very useful to me.
O.k, But how come your first movie itself evokes the memory of other films like Guna, Kadhal Konden?
No, it is not like that. The story of Chellame was an inspiration from Ramayana. I am the Rama, Reema, the Seetha and Bharath was the Ravana. The little change here was that Ravana is just 16 years old, that's all.
Director A.V.Gandhi when he told me the story line of the film, this is the way he told me, in fact he didn't tell me anything else" reveals Vishaal.
After hearing this, a question came into our mind. Oh… Is this the way Seetha was portrayed is the original version?.. Only the Director should answer this.
