A comment in famous Tamil weekly got Sathyaraj in a jam. He is acting in a movie called 'Iyer IPS'. He does duel role in this. Just to make a difference in the 'getup', of Villain Character, he wore Khadi white shirt with Blackened face.

A journalist from this magazine happened to see Sathyaraj in that make up and he wrote that Sathyaraj made fun of the late Chief Minister Kamaraj.

Nadar Peravai didn't take this comment lightly. They gathered in large numbers in front of Sathyaraj's house. Because of this large-scale gathering, the banners, cutouts of Sathyaraj were smashed into pieces.

Satyaraj, who caught off guard, tried to pacify them saying, "How I could have spoken in such a manner about a great man and leader like Kamaraj". But the crowd was not at all satisfied with this response. Then the director of that movie, Hari Rajan, came to the rescue of Sathyaraj. He went and explained that, the particular character does not have any dialogue whatsoever. Because as per characterization, is deaf and dumb". Thus he revealed the suspense element in the film 'Iyer IPS'. Only after this explanation volunteers of Nadar Peravai disbursed.
