Tamilnadu state government had announced the state film awards for the past three years. The awards will be given on the 1st of November. 

Madras University's Centenary Hall is the place where the event is going to be conducted. The ceremony will commence with cultural programs by film artistes. The Chief Minister Ms Jayalalitha and the state Governor BS Ram Mohan are going to attend the event.

The Governor is going to preside over the function and give away the awards and cash prizes to the winners. The CM is going to give away the mementos.

More than 130 artistes are going to receive awards in various categories. Since prizes for the past 3 years are going to be given away this time, arrangements are being made to accommodate a large crowd.

The Deepavali countdown for the film industry begins on the 1st of November this time. This is an Award Deepavali for them.
