Sarath Kumar had resigned from the post of General Secretary of Nadigar Sangam a few days ago. He now has withdrawn his resignation.
Sarath Kumar was the General Secretary of South Indian Actor's Guild. He was not happy with the activities of the association, especially of Vijayakanth's. So, he tendered his resignation on the first of this month. But, the association didn't accept his resignation. The organizing committee had got together and signed a petition stating that they refuse to accept the resignation.
Following this, Sarath announced that he is withdrawing his resignation. He also gave an emotional interview to the media.
He said, "My intention was not to split the association or to not invite the CM for the Golden Jubilee celebrations. Our president (Vijayakanth) does believe in democracy. If I have some doubts about participating in the Golden Jubilee celebrations, I have all the rights to speak to him about it. I also have the right to ask the president if the 'Thank you' ceremony to the CM is being conducted by the Association or by the film industry as a whole. I don't intend to give up my rights.
"There is no political intervention in the Association but magazines sometime make it look that way," he added.
Sarath himself was a Press person once. He knows that the press wouldn't write something if there was no truth in it at all.
