Since the beginning of the film, 'Kannamma' with Kalaignar's dialogues, has been running into troubles. Abitha simply refused to turn up for the shooting of 'Ullakadathal' and is likely to be banned from new films. She has been replaced with Meena now.
 
The film's shooting is on at Varsha Mahal, a house in Mudichur, near Tambaram. Presently, scenes involving Meena and actor Chandrashekar are being shot.

A while ago, the film's shooting began with the hero of the film, Venkat uttering the same dialogue of 'Parashakti' at the same spot that Shivaji had said it.

Karunanidhi had written the dialogues for the film.

After a long break, Karunanidhi returns to films with the dialogues of 'Kannamma'. Due to sentimental reasons, the film begins with the 'Success' dialogue, says the director SS Baba Vikram.
