This is the Silver Jubilee year for Rajesh in films. The celebrations were as low-key as he generally is.
Rajesh had invited all the people who mattered the most in his career- producer Raj Kannu, K Bhagyaraj and Cheran, who had directed 'Autograph', the latest film that Rajesh film had acted in.
Rajesh took a trip down memory lane and thanked everybody who had made him what he is now. The star attraction was K Bhagyaraj. He was very down-to-earth. In his own humorous style, he mentioned his experience as a wannabe director when he was looking for a break. He had met with Bharatiraaja and spoken to him in the little English that he knew. Bharatiraaja thought that the boy was very good in English so he accepted him as his assistant.
Bhagyaraj's speech created a coziness that isn't seen in other film functions. It looked more like a family gets together. Cheran was supposed to speak next. He simply said that he didn't want to destroy the mood that Bhagyaraj had created and sat down. Rajesh is from Mannargudi. He has all the film statistics at his fingertips. Presently he is involved in real estate business but hasn't quit acting. He is doing films like 'Chatrapathy', 'Aayutham', 'Ji', 'Sirpi' and 'Kaatrullavarai'.
He loves books and has translated a book on cameras in Tamil. If the book gets published, it would be very helpful to hundreds of assistant cinematographers. Rajesh has to be appreciated for this service. Some get more name than they deserve. Some people's fame hasn't yet caught up with the kind of qualifications they have. Rajesh belongs to the second kind.
