Shivaji Films is celebrating its golden jubilee this year.

To mark the occasion they decided to produce a film with Rajini in the lead. P Vasu is directing the film and it has been named 'Chandramukhi'. Since it is a Rajini film, there is lot of curiosity about it.

There were reports everywhere, including on Cinesouth, that the film will be launched on the 1st of October, the birthday of Shivaji Ganeshan.

Many fans gathered outside Annai Illam but they were disappointed. Only a ceremony to pay homage to Shivaji was held. This was attended by many film celebrities. 

The disappointed fans cheered up when Rajini's car arrived. He came at around 12.30 with his wife Latha. Shivaji's sons Ramkumar and Prabhu invited him.  Rajini offered his prayers to Shivaji's photograph and garlanded it. He then spoke to the reporters. He said, the whole film industry is indebted to the CM for getting rid of the pirated VCD menace.

After 12 years' break, AVM made 'Murattukaalai'. Similarly, Shivaji Productions is making this film after a gap of 12 years. This film would be a crown of Tamil films. No film in Tamil has been made with such a story. The film will be launched on the 1st of November. We are trying to get Aishwarya Rai to play the heroine.

Celebrities like Vijayakanth, Balaji, Jai Suryakanth, YG Mahendra, Soukar Janaki and others garlanded the picture.
