Devayani won the award for the best actress that year. She said, "This is my fourth award. I knew that the film will get me an award. I'm getting this award after 3 years."

Surya has been getting one award after the other for his films 'Kaaka Kaaka' and 'Pitamagan'. He wins the award for the year 2001 for 'Nanda'. "My first big film was 'Nanda'. The film brought out the actor in me. Credit also goes to director Bala. He used to say that Lord Hanuman doesn't know his own strength. This award for 'Nanda' has inspired me to concentrate more on acting."
 
Sneha says, "I have got the award that I was expecting. 'Virumbugiraen' was my first film. I'm happy that 'Aanandam' and 'Punnagai Desam' too have won the awards. She won the award for the best actress of the year 2001.
 
Madhavan wins the award for best actor of 2002 for 'Run', 'Anbae Shivam' and 'Kannathil Muththamittaal'.
