Hari made his debut in Tamil films as a director with ‘Tamizh’. He then went out to hit boundaries with films like ‘Saami’, ‘Arul’ and ‘Kovil’. He is now getting ready with Sarath Kumar’s new film ‘Aiyya’.

Kavithaalaya who had earlier produced ‘Saami’, is producing ‘Aiyya’ too. Sarath Kumar plays dual roles in the film, one of them is that of a 60 year old man (maybe that’s why they had named the film ‘Aiyya’). One more information about this film- the story of this film was originally written for Rajini when he was looking for a new director after the ‘Baba’ fiasco.

Sarath’s heroine in the film is the Malayalam import Nayantara. There is a long list of stars who are acting in the film including Napoleon, Prakashraj, Vadivelu and many more. Bharadwaj has composed music for the film. The songs are very catchy. He had tried hard to make them that way. Lyrics were written by P Vijay, N Muthukumar and Snehan. Cinematography- Priyan, story, screenplay, dialogues, direction- Hari.

The film was launched with lot of excitement along with shooting of some scenes on the seventh floor of AVM studios. Here’s a live report:

From 8.30 in the morning, crowd began gathering. Pooja was performed in the traditional manner. The stars congratulated Sarath and Hari.

Vijayakumar and Manjula Vijayakumar turned up with their whole family for the film that was going to be directed by their son-in-law. The father-in-law gave a big hug and kiss to him.

After taking pictures Radhika-Sarath and Hari-Preetha together, the group started conversing with Radhika.

Surya was being mobbed by the media reporters. They wanted to know the reason behind the delay in his next film. AM Rathnam and director SJ Surya were standing a few feet away and answering their own questions. We couldn’t understand what they were talking about.

Cheran had turned up with the hairstyle that he had chosen for his new film ‘Touring Talkies’. He plays the hero of the film. Other guests include AVM Saravanan, RB Choudary, Muralidharan, Swaminathan, Oscar Films Suresh, Thaenappan, directors K Balachander, KS Ravikumar, Radhamohan, Ramana, actors Napoleon, Prakashraj, Vadivelu, Charlie and many other actresses. The gathering began to disperse at around 10.00 AM. Pushpa Thangadurai was the one who had invited and sent off all the guests who had come to the function.
