The film ‘Ayodhya’ has been getting into trouble from the very beginning itself. But, is the film really controversial?
Jayavilas, who had produced ‘Love Channel’ is now going to produce ‘Ayodhya’. Mohankumar, a newcomer, is making his debut as the film’s hero. Heroines are newcomers Hoga Unnikrishnan and Raagini. Others include Ramana, Livingston, Saranraj and more.
Jayaprakash, the director of the film, says, "two next-door neighbors, a Hindu and a Muslim family are very close to each other. A small problem erupts between them that grows into a major issue and drags the whole village into it.
The village then resolves the dispute and peace returns to the village".
You have named the film ‘Ayodhya’. Does it deal with the issue?
"There is nothing in common between them. We had given it the name for publicity alone".
Is it a commercial film or an art film?
"It purely is a commercial film. But, it has a strong message of religious harmony. If atleast 10 people decide to change their lives after watching the film, I would think that I have succeeded".
But this was already said in ‘Bombay’!
"No, but the plot was different. You will know the difference when you see it".
The film has a controversial logo- of a half moon over a trishul. Would you be able to handle the controversy?
"We are careful not to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments. So, we don’t expect such troubles".

Two songs have been shot in Ireland’s Dolphin City. No troubles were created during shooting abroad, but it is different when it came to shooting in India. There are lot of opposition.
Recently some scenes were shot in Nagercoil’s mosque. Permission was given after lot of conditions. A woman, who was part of the production crew, had entered the mosque by mistake. This and angered the local Muslims. They conducted strikes and didn’t let the shooting proceed.
Only Lord Rama knows if this film will be completed peacefully.
