Occasionally, political leaders threaten to resign their posts and their loyal followers immediately plead them not to. This is a regular scene in the political circles. Now, this comic scenario is making its way into films too!

Everybody knows about the rally-fast that the film industry is conducting to spread awareness about pirated VCDs. Yesterday was the grand finale of the protest. More than thousands of members of various associations turned up to participate in the protest.

Film producer K Rajan was dressed like a beggar and stressed the point that people who are arrested for possession of pirated VCDs should be tried under the Goondas Act. He was participating in the protest too.

The sight of the microphone and the audience probably carried him away. He made a ferocious announcement- 'If no action is taken within 30 days, then I’m going to immolate myself on the 31st day!' This had chocked the whole gathering.

Film director SP Muthuraman who was nearby, said, 'There are so many of us who are fighting for the same cause. We wouldn’t let you die so soon. We’ll fight to save you.' The talks sounded as if J&K terrorists had kidnapped K Rajan and as if his life was in grave danger!

At the end of the meeting it was decided that the cine industry will conduct a protest march towards Fort St George, meet the Chief Minister and present a petition to her.

The march is going to begin at Valluvar Kottam and conclude at Fort St George.
