Gopika made a lackluster debut in the film ‘Pranayamanithooval’. Her second film wasn’t something she was proud of either. 'That was when I thought I should quit the film industry,' she said.

'My second film was ‘Aaraadhyam Parayum’. When I was working in the film, I had a feeling that maybe I was not meant to be in the cine industry. I had almost decided to quit.

***image:2:right*** ‘Pranayamanithooval’ had happened all of a sudden. I was not well prepared for the film. I was talking to the director one day and before I knew I was acting in the film. Everything happened so fast. I did learn a lesson from the film.'

How do you choose your films?

I look at the script and my costumes in the film. Only then do I accept the offers. I have a very good manager in Tamil. He explains the role to me and if there is something I’m not comfortable with, I simply refuse the film.

Nice policy!
