Kochi, Oct 16 (IANS) Malayalam superstar Mammootty continues to be a hot favourite with his latest "Kazhcha" topping the box office.
The top five Malayalam films are:
1. "Kazhcha": This Mammootty starrer, directed by newcomer Blessy, has brought family audiences back to the theatres with its clean and sentimental story about a Gujarati boy in Kuttanad. 2. "Satyam: The Real Identity": This film has brought much comfort for Prithviraj, who has been dropped from every major project he was supposed to do because of an unofficial ban following the recent strike in the industry. The success of the film is indisputable. 3. "Natturajavu": Mohanlal has done it again. His detractors have prophesied doom whenever he has repeated his superhuman act, but the masses have always remained loyal to him. Luck or star power, his appeal remains. 4. "Greetings": This Jayasurya-Kavya Madhavan film, directed by Shajoon Kariyal, has received only a tepid response at the box office. Lack of competition, however, puts it in this list. 5. "Freedom": Thampy Kannamthanam, the veteran director, has experimented with a new breed of actors in this film starring Jishnu and Nishant Sagar. And his boldness seems to be paying off.
