Madhu Bangarappa wants some action. From the leading stars of the Kannada industry. Having fought piracy for well over a decade, he now believes the entire industry must do something about it. "The most popular figure in the film industry are the heroes and heroines. I believe every hero should lanch an awarness campaign among his fans and tell them not to buy pirated copies at least of his own films. There was this incident in Hyderabad where actor Mahesh Babu raided a VCD parlour that was selling pirated copies along with a huge number of his fans and burnt down the entire stock that was available there. This is the kind of powerful campaign we need here as well," says Madhu
He believes the government too needs to play an important role. "My role so far has been to identify offenders and hand over to the police. But then they are released within a day with no fine levied either. The government needs to make this a non-bailable offence along with a hefty fine," he maintains. Meanwhile Madhu is working on another project, "Remixes are the trend today and we are coming out with a Kannada remix album. The first one has been conceptualized and programmed by Dharma and the quality and standard of each of the remixes is on par with any of the Bollywood ones. We are also planning to shoot a video for the first album shortly," he says.
