‘Tashan’ tension!

‘Tashan’s’ debacle may have left a bitter taste in the mouths of many. But Saif Ali Khan seems to be the most effected of the lot. The actor isn’t particularly very happy with the editing of certain scenes, especially the one that featured him with Kareena Kapoor. Now that explains all the ranting and raving!

However director Vijay Krishna Acharya holds that certain scenes had to be edited to firm up the film and that shouldn’t bother any of his actors since it was for the benefit of the film. Nevertheless, the director is unable to gulp in the cynical take on his film. He resonates by claiming that the cast and crew of ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ currently stalled in Bangkok just loved his film.

Backing up ‘Tashan’, Acharya adds, “I didn’t know I had made the worst film on this planet. A lot of the venom was directed at my producer Yashraj Films, for whatever reasons. But I’m happy to say in spite of ‘Tashan’ not opening at multiplexes it has collected almost as much as Yashraj Films’ ‘Fanaa’. And that’s saying a lot.”

In the meantime, Vijay Krishna Acharya is once again set to start rolling for yet another Yash Raj Films venture apart from assisting Mani Ratnam in his next.

A confident Acharya adds, “It’s very important for me to direct another film and let my critics know that my convictions as a filmmaker remain unshaken. Though it’ll be nothing like ‘Tashan’ my next film too will be as quirky. It’s always going to be my way.”

And with Yash Raj still favoring Acharya, this maverick director is unstoppable now. With ‘Tashan’ finally making its way to the multiplexes, the trade is expected to get a boost in the weeks to follow.
