Mumbai, Oct. 15 (ANI): As India and Pakistan ready themselves to sustain a peace process to end hostilities of decades, the Indian film industry is doing its bit to narrow the gaps.

"Veer Zaara", a love story between an Indian air force officer and a Pakistani woman, is already making waves with the industry and the general public.

Starring superstars Shah Rukh Khan, featured on the cover of Time magazine recently, and Preity Zinta, "Veer Zaara" is the most anticipated film of the year, releasing during the Diwali.

Directed by legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, the film also pitches in seasoned stars like Rani Mukherjee, Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in the lead roles.

Chopra has pitched for a title in the footsteps of subcontinent's other immortal romances like Laila Majnu, Heer Ranjha and Sohni Mahiwal.

The film is the story of desperate attempts by star-crossed lovers Veer Pratap Singh and Zaara Hayaat Khan to unite, but are separated by their warring border.

Adding to the film's aura of passion and nostalgia is the music score by the undoubtedly greatest Indian music composer late Madan Mohan and songs by Lata Mangeshkar, known as India's nightingale.

The film's dubbing and sound recording on the sync technology has been done at a state of the art sound mixing studio which uses a special technique of international quality for the film.

"This is an expensive techonlogy. The recovery of cost of the equipment is more creative aspect for people who want to work from the heart.

Businesswise it is not a very wise decision. This is a very important step forward. If our technicians use this wisely then a day will come when our sound system will match the international standards," Khan said launching the Empire Audio center.

"Veer Zaara" is Chopra's first directorial venture in eight years. Chopra is India's most successful director of commercial films.
