Filmmaker Boney Kapoor, whose four films yielded turkey last year, and for whom this year has been no better, is keeping his fingers crossed for his next big release -- "Kyun! Ho Gaya Na..." -- starring Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberio and slated for release Friday.

Kapoor, who has given a series of flops -- "Run", "Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche",  "Shakti" and "Khushi" -- has now gone corporate and will bring out a public issue to raise money for his future commitments that include "Bewafaa" starring Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpai, Kareena Kapoor and Sushmita Sen, "Milenge Milenge" with Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, "No Entry" and distribution of "Matrubhoomi".

"I seriously need to hit the jackpot. My pockets are burning. I plan to go to Vaishnodevi for Mata's (God's) blessing," he told the press. "In today's competitive times, going corporate is the only way out."

Kapoor seems to have a winner in hand with "Kyun! Ho Gaya Na..." that stars the real-life star couple. The Sameer Karnik film has lively music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and also stars Suniel Shetty.

Though its first week will be unchallenged, it needs to get off to a flying start to consolidate its position before "Fida", starring another real-life couple Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur along with Fardeen Khan, goes on the marquees.

Friday's release "Taarzan - The Wonder Car!", though an interesting proposition, will be no match to the story in which Vivek essays a role of a fast car driver. "Taarzan" by Abbas Mustan is about a car with supernatural powers and has Ajay Devgan in a cameo.

Car designer Dilip Chhabria of DC Design turned the MR2 Toyota into a deep purple wonder car. The car itself cost Rs.200,000 from the film's whopping budget of Rs.150 million.

Until "Kyun! Ho Gaya Na..." with ice maiden Aishwarya Rai and her real and reel life beau makes it to the cinema halls, the box-office will be dominated with her former lover Salman Khan and his antics in "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi". The David Dhawan film that stars Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra is going roaring business.

David Dhawan, the name that brings back memories of blockbusters such as "Aankhen", "Biwi No. 1", "Bol Radha Bol", "Coolie No.1" and many more has returned with a bang.

The light-hearted romantic film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala has reportedly reached the Top 10 of the British box office charts on the first weekend of its release, according to Zee Network, which forayed into overseas distribution with the movie.

With yet another winner in "Mujhse...", the controversial Khan is well on a comeback trail with over Rs.1 billion worth of Bollywood productions -- numbering seven at last count -- riding on his brawny shoulders over the next year.

Some media reports say Salman has bagged yet another international project by Kabir Khan after "Marigold". The film in question will be set in Afghanistan and will be a bilingual in Hindi and English starring Indian, American and Afghan actors.
