Sushmita Sen replaces Aishwarya Rai in the new film ‘Runway’, which is going to be directed by acclaimed director Tanuja Chandra.

Tanuja Chandra wanted Aishwarya Rai to play the lead role in the film. Initially she had agreed to do the film too, but soon she refused because she realized that the callsheets were clashing with her dates for ‘Mistress of Spice’, her current and only international film.

Director Tanuja Chandra says that the film is based on the true story of a woman named Reshma, who was living on the Indo-Pak border during the 1971 war. Sushmita Sen is playing the role of a commercial sex worker in another film. Kalpana Lajmi is going to direct it.

Sen is convinced that one of these two films will surely fetch her an award.
