Vishal-Shekar seems to have lost their magical touch as is evident with the music of ‘Bhootnath’ and ‘Tashan’. This Reitesh Deshmukh, Ayesha Takia and Aftab Shivdasani starrer is a comedy film. Vishal Dadlani other than giving company to Shekhar in the music department, is also working as a full fledged lyricist for the film.

Roaring number ‘Everybody put your hands together’ is what you encounter at the initial of the album. Sunidhi Chauhan, Anushka Manchanda and Shaan do the vocals and excel it’s the music that lets you down. Typical western beats and Hindi-English lyrics let the number down. If you’re in a mood to enjoy a foot tapping score, just go ahead.

Title song ‘De Taali’ has lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala. Though he is the guest lyricist yet he doesn’t lend much uniqueness to the track. Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan are unable to do much to this already sour track.

The proceedings lights up with ‘Aaj mein boond hoon’. A romantic number aptly suited for Shreya Ghoshal is impressive. Shekar Ravjiani joins Shreya in the vocal department but the lady sounds just terrific.

After a hit with the title track of ‘Golmaal’, Anushka Manchanda takes a reverse on a soft note with ‘Hone Lagi’. A nice track, this too has Shekar Ravjiani lending his vocals. The work with the tone is fine but not with the music. The remix version sounds far appealing and would find many takers.

A pick from the talent hunt show, Raja Hasan goes for the best in his first attempt itself. ‘Maari Teetri’ is a foot tapping number with Rajasthani folksy beats. Raja’s voice is certainly commendable.

Shaan, KK and Sunidhi Chauhan join together for ‘Tooti Phooti’. A cute number, the fresh music saves the album at the eleventh hour.

After the stupendous success of ‘Om Shanti Om’ one expects to see quality stuff coming from Vishal –Shekar. Though there are decent scores, yet that one genuine number is missing  that would make ‘De Taali’ top the charts.
