Pahlaj Nihalani once upon a time was associated with making commercial films. He has been around for around three decades now but film genres in Bollywood have undergone many changes in the meantime. Pahlaj Nihalani brings us a romantic film this time with two newcomers in the cast - Avantikka and Rishi Rehan. A new director Rajesh Ram Singh is directing the film. Adnan Sami and Javed Akhtar handle the music department. Singer Adnan Sami has already exhibited his composing skill with ‘Lucky - No Time For Love’ and with ‘Khushboo’ he takes his image further as a composer.

'Kyon Hai Mujhe Lagta' is dipped in melody and the honeyed voice of Shreya Ghosal elevates the effect further. Adnan Sami also joins her. It’s a mix of Indian and Western musical elements. Though it’s a long track of 7 minutes, you will enjoy every minute of it. This hummable track has well written lyrics and lovers would definitely lap it up.

There is a hip-hop version of the track in ‘remix’ with a different setting and mood of the track altogether. The club setting is thoroughly enjoyable.

Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan join up for genuine club track 'Dil Yeh Kahe'. They are the right kind of singers for the song belonging to this genre. This fast track is enjoyable and calls to be played in repeat in mode. A club-mix version of the song adds to the momentum. ‘Khushboo’ is going great so far.

Shankar Mahadevan in his lovely voice renders 'Kya Hai Sochati Tu' with Shreya Ghosal backing him up in this conversational song. The good rhythm and lyrics keeps you interested in the number.

'Tum Jo Mile Humko' revives back romance for the album once again this time with Adnan Sami taking to the mike. Mahalakshmi Iyer is the female voice. It is a Adnan Sami number all the way in terms of composition and singing. Thid pleasant number is in sync with the mood of the film.

'Badi Albeli Hai Tu' is a fun track belonging rightly to the 80's reviving back the nostalgia. Udit Narayan and Sunidhi Chauhan do the rendition for the song that appears to be so much a Bappi Lahiri number in terms of its execution. Javed Akhtar penning such kind of ‘tapori’ lyrics comes as a surprise to the listeners.

Talk of Bappi Lahiri and he is here as guest composer for 'Paake Tujhe'. Versatile singer KK makes an appearance for the track written by Dr. Deepal Dhusia. Though he is associated to singing lively tracks, here it’s a sad numberfor him. 'Paake Tujhe' also comes in a 'Lovers Mix' version.

'Kisme Kitna Hai Dum' is a fun-filled song, with Amit Kumar at the helm of affairs. But it’s nothing that would bring a justified end to the album. To the tranquil music that one hears so far, this comes as a distortion. After such a pleasing experince, you can rightly give it a miss.
One didn’t expected to hear so many nice sounding numbers in this album and it is a pleasant surprise no doubt. The songs make Khushboo better than just a passable fare. Adnan Sami has been impressive in ‘Dhol’ and ‘Mumbai Salsa’ and decent in ‘Shaurya’, this time he delivers better.
