Movie Preview : Dashavatharam

‘Dasavatharam’ is one of the most awaited films of the year. Film fanatics are waiting with baited breathe for the film to release. Here’s bringing to you a prelude to what is in store. It is known and sundry that ‘Dasavatharam’ is a mega film surely posing tough competition to all the movies released so far in the field of technicality and aesthetics. And why not, when you are going to witness on screen something that you have never seen before.

It’s a Kamal Haasan film all the way, with his avatar that will stun the audience and critics alike. He is a spell-binding performer but playing ten different uniquely etched characters will surely be a challenge for him. And with his versatile acting scale he is certain to breathe life into each of the characters. Kamal Haasan tells about the film, "I think, basically I am a cinema fan. And I have given you what I would like to see as a sensible cinema fan. So, I think your intelligence will not be insulted, your time will not be wasted, and you will really enjoy this film."

K.S. Ravi Kumar has directed the film on the scripts of Kamal Hassan. The director quotes, "The audience expects a lot from this movie and it has come out well enough to live up to that." Asin and Mallika Sherawat are the two actresses and Jaya Pradha has put upwith a special appearance. Thotta Tharani does the art direction.

The film has two music composers. Himesh Reshamiya sets to score some catchy tracks for the film. Devi Sri Prasad handles the background score.              

The film is a heady roller-coaster ride across time and continents. It begins from 12th Century AD at the Chidambaram temple complex in South India. In an intriguing screenplay, the chaos theory and chain of multiple events have been weaved for a thrilling narrative. The main plot is about things going wrong in a synthetic bio-weapons laboratory in Washington DC, various international organizations become players in a global cloak-and-dagger game. The Whitehouse and CIA in the USA, P.M.'s office in India, environmentalists, terrorist organizations and various others congregate to become part of a global hunt.

Dr. Kamal Haasan has done an arduous task playing the 10 different characters, which is one of its kind attempts by the actor. The film will certainly set a new yardstick in cinematic excellence. With the essential ingredients like élan and humor laced with the thrilling story, a box office glory is already in hand!
