‘My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves’ is director E.Niwas’s latest offering on the block that has nothing to do with the seventies classic flick ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ save for its title which it borrows from the all-time hit track ‘My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves’.

Starring petite belle Amrita Rao, who is looking marvelously stunning here, the film forms the launch pad of aspiring newbie Nikhil Dwivedi.

Nikhil Dwivedi dons the lead character of Anthony here, a simple, honest guy who dreams to make it big someday and starts off as a bartender as his first step to success. The entire script revolves round the doings of this chap who aspires to become an actor but his life takes a twirl when he accidentally encounters a goon Pavan Malhotra.

Quite oblivious to the misdoings carried on in full swing by the owners of the bar, Anthony happily continues with his job until one day he gets to witness a horrific crime committed within the walls of the bar and from here starts his chase to save his soul.

On the way he stumbles across Amrita (Ria) and loses his heart to her. Will she pave his way to success or his dreams will jeopardize once the truth surfaces forms the mystery of the film.

Discoursing on his film, debutante Nikhil Dwivedi avers, “Like the tagline of the film need, it’s a film about ordinary dreams. It’s a film about an ordinary man who has extraordinary dreams. He wants to be a huge star and he is from very ordinary background. The movie is about his strife and struggle to achieve his dreams.”

Talking about her take in the film, Amrita Rao briefs, “My role in this movie is of a Catholic girl, whose name is Ria. She is an assistant director in the movie. She is working with a well-acclaimed lady director. It was a great job to do a real life role. It’s not a fictitious character.”

Apart from the two, the film also includes in its starcast names like Anupam Kher, D Santosh, Hrishita Bhatt, Lilette Dubey, Mithun Chakraborty, Mukesh Tiwari, Pawan Malhotra, and Saurabh Shukla.

Pritam and Himesh Reshammiya have doled out the soundtrack for the film. The film is slated for January 11th release.
