Here comes one more sport-flick of the season that fiddles around with the second favorite sport of the nation, Football. With ‘Chak De’ going ahead to become the sport anthem of the nation, Vivek Agnihtri’s ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’ too stands a good chance to grace the stadiums sometime now.

With a sport flick round the corner, one couldn’t expect much but all subjective situational tracks to cruise the film forward. However, with Pritam Chakraborty at the helm of the musical affair, you can hardly have all action and no fun. And the music of ‘Goal’ itself stands as the testimony to this fact.

What you get to listen at the very outset of the album will completely catch you off guard. Instead of any hardcore sport anthem or situational ditty, what plays on is a qawaali-mujra track ‘Billo Rani’ that comes somewhat as a shock initially and then as a sweet surprise as the song swims to its sizzling end. Pritam gets musician Anand Raj Anand and Richa Sharma to dole out this gusto track and no wonders the two live up to it exceedingly well. Pritam jazzes up the fervor of the track with racy, impulsive beats. Javed Akhtar’s piping hot lyrics definitely makes this one a smoldering hot treat to tune into. And for all those who wish to take this track to the floors, there is a remix version of it with added thumps that can surely set the floor on fire.

‘Ishq Ka Kalma’ is no different from the first one either. A couple of minutes into the track and you realize that it has got all it takes to be a chartbuster smash hit. Although an item track to the hilt, this one has some sport cheering in between as well. Neeraj Sreedhar of ‘Bombay Vikings’ fame pours out the lines in his quintessential Hinglish style. With this track on the play, one can surely expect another hit to Neeraj’s long list of success.

The next track sways you aside from all the fun and fervor and talks of some serious business. ‘Hey Dude, Don’t Mess With Me’ carries with it the message loud and clear. Devrat pits this fiery trick with all passion and attitude. An outright English number, this one has a raucous feel with loud thumps and high rendition. This one is believed to appear on several occasions in the film that is expected to carry the heat of the sport to the fore.

‘Halla Bol, Aage Dol, Karta Jaa, Goal Pe Goal’ is one track that blazes with fiery sporty passion and sets our adrenaline pumping for action. Loud boyish cheers and moral boosts perks up the tempo of the track. With Daler Mahndi at the helm of affairs, this track cannot be held low on vigor and energy. One would definitely expect this kind of track to make its way into the very beginning of the track. The Indian essence is omnipresent throughout aided by a convoluted orchestra, it blazes on and promises to keep the flag flying high. A superbly tracked down number for sure!

‘Tara Ru’ is one of those typical tracks sung on the occasion to perk up the sagging spirits of the fading team. This soft rock ballad poured out by Javed Ali works to boost life into the withered team. Nevertheless, this four-minute track sounds bane after sometime and proves to be a complete put off. The song's theme is about a team that is on the verge of loosing and is being motivated not to give up and keep its head high on the face of adversity.

Apart from this one track, ‘Tara Ru’ rest of the songs of  ‘Goal’ can be surely seen as the match winners. While ‘Billo Rani’ and ‘Ishq Ka Kalma’ will make the listeners jive with joy, while ‘Hala Bol’ and ‘Hey Dude’ will add up to the style and sport quotient of the film. Pritam can definitely look ahead to another feather in his cap with ‘Goal’!
