Friendship seems to be the ongoing trend in the industry today. A lot of films are being made on the tender alliance of friendship. Earlier this year ‘Happy Days’ revived the flavor of friendship onscreen and now it’s the turn of ‘Nava Vasantam’ to do the same.
This film starring Tarun in the lead seems to have done wonders for the actors drooping career. This film granted Tarun liberal scope to exhibit his acting credentials. And gladly, he managed to clinch this opportunity to his credit.
Debutant director Shahjahan fumbles with his direction at times, but considering his lack of experience, the mistakes are pardonable. Due credit should be given to the director for coming up with a clean film sans any coarseness. Only if the screenplay were a bit well knitted, the film would have been far better.
The action mainly gyrates around four friends essayed onscreen by Tarun, Rohit, Akash and Sunil. This film has greatly benefited the careers of the stars who have been struggling to find a foot in the industry for sometime.
This film is not only high on the spirit of camaraderie but is also laced with some of the important issues that plague the life of the teens. This film cast ray on the problem of young ones who often succumb to their family’s illogical demands. This message is conveyed loud and clear in the film but nevertheless ends up being a little too pedestrian.
The story revolves round heartbroken Tarun who loves a girl but is turned down by her father. This forlorn lover then comes across his childhood chums in Hyderabad where they have fled in search of their dreams. Tarun helps his friends in realizing their dreams. How they all get to the threshold of success forms the major part of the film.
Tarun has given his best shot here and so have Rohit, Akash and Sunil. Priyamani as Tarun’s ladylove is okay. Comedy is well knitted in the plot and Sunil’s mimicry act succeeds to send laughing riots from the viewers. Brahmanandam is as usual impressive.
Music by SA Rajkumar doesn’t appeal. But nevertheless, lack of any gleaming melody hardly hinders its charm. In a nutshell, an entertaining watch!
