‘Sila Nerangalil’ will be a special musical outing for all as this film marks the comeback of P Susheela, the ultimate melody queen of South after a long wait for over thirteen years. Srikanth Deva, the music director, hopes to strike gold with this gamble and unfailingly he does.

‘Sila Nerangalil’ is special for few other reasons as well. It marks the entry of a new singing talent, TMS Selvaraj in the musical arena. It also marks the admission of super hit Malayalam director Jayaraj into Kollywood. This film pairs Vincent Asokan together with Navya Nair in the lead role.

The best part of the music of this film is that it is devoid of all frills and thrills and aims at giving only sheer musical joy. To add to its credit is lyricist Vairamuthu's consequential and graceful lyrics that further elevates its beauty.

The soundtrack bursts open with ‘Embavai Embavai’, an exceedingly arresting track doled out by the likes of Senthil Dass and Raesmi. This track has it all that qualifies it for a potential success. Outstanding hummable refrains, superb lyrics with charming imagery and gratifying alliteration, great instrumentation, and fabulous rendition are some of the assets of this great piece of melody. Senthil Dass’s refined rendition is mesmerizing and fine instrumentation makes this one a fabulous, indelible track.

‘Ponguthu Ponguthu’ poured out by the novice singer TMS Selvaraj is simply mind-blowing. Selvaraj’s deep rich voice aptly gels with the tempo of the track. This track is blessed with admirable lyrics, good pace and moving instrumentation that make it a hummable one.

‘Thirudapatta Nilavae’ is a throbbing track dished out with full intensity by Haricharan and Chithra. Chithra’s voice at time tilts shrill while trying to match up with Haricharan's exuberant decibels. Vairamuthu's lilting lyrics craftily etch out the undying sentiments of the lovers.

‘Pottu Vaitha’ is perhaps the most waited and remarkable of all tracks since it brings the veteran singer P Susheela behind the mike after a brief sojourn. A ballad, this one is stimulated with a retro stroke. Vairamuthu's lyrics are effortless yet poetic and P Susheela’s rendition as well as the tune of the track are very gratifying.

The last track to feature in the album is ‘Cell Phonai’ rendered by Suchitra who is an apt choice for this kind of track. This scorching track is charged up with electrifying beats that tends to overshadow the lyrics.

Srikanth Deva deserves an ovation for coming up with such wonderful numbers. A truly listener’s delight, the album makes for a great and worthy buy. So hurry and grab a copy soon!
