From a child vocalist to an upcoming musician, G V Prakash has surely come a long way. After elating the entire nation with his magnanimous debut in ‘Veyyil’, there had been no speed-breakers for this young musician since then. Now this powerhouse of talent has been roped in to compose the soundtrack of ‘Polladhavan’ starring Dhanush and Divya in key roles. And true to his musical genes, Prakash once again lives up to his fans grand expectations.

Prakash comes up with a montage of perky and melodious symphonies for all music addicts here. Choicest pick of playback vocalists coupled with swinging lyrics forms the main USP of this album. The likes of S P Balasubramanaiam, Sunitha Sarathy, Suchitra, Shankar Mahadevan, and Bombay Jayashree has offered their voices for the lilting tracks. The remix number by the Malaysian rap singer Yogi B is simply exhilarating.

The soundtrack sparks off with the yesteryear’s laudable hit ‘Engeyum Eppothum’ that took the entire musical world with a sway. Now this track is once again rehashed in the album with impressive remix done by Malaysian pop singer Yogi B that elevates the peppiness of the track. S P Balasubramaniam and Sunitha Sarathy dole out in their usual fashion for rap interludes and the racy backdrop score with frisky punches offer a never before newness. Additionally, Yogi B emerges as the show stealer here with his brilliant rap rendition. Stupendous job indeed!

‘Minnalgal Koothaadum’ takes a spin from the electrifying cadence and instead moves on the line of chaste melody. Prakash is very much at home with this kind of lilting tracks and here he exemplifies that it can’t get better than this. Rendered dulcetly by Karthik and Bombay Jayshree, this satiny soft song is haunted by a fleecy feel all throughout. Prakash’s shrewd handling never allowing the music to surpass the quivering lyrics makes for a commendable hearing.

‘Alibaba Thangam’ rounds up as another frivolous frisky number rendered by effervescent Suchitra. Her throaty rendition coupled with intoxicating refrain and enthralling beats makes for a groovy hearing. A potential one indeed!

‘Neeye Sol’ is high on lyrics which run-down as its biggest strength. Power-packed and chic rendition by Benni, Sunitha Sarathy only adds to its might. Westernized musical arrangements with minimal instrumentation is arresting.

The last track to follow is the sultry and fiery number ‘Padichi Pathen’ rendered by Shankar Mahadevan. This Dhina composed song has a massy appeal where he employs lively instruments and beguiling beats to get the effect. To sum up, a jazzy number in offering.

Prakash once again establishes his musical credibility with this album. Loaded with lively and energizing numbers and speckled with melody in-between, this is the kind of album that will find many buyers.
